WATERBURY — Mrs. Ada (Iulianetti) Saturno, 83, of 56 Porter Manor Drive, Waterbury, died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at Saint Mary’s Hospital. She was the wife of Massimo Saturno.
Ada was born in Walpole, Mass., on Jan. 31, 1926, daughter of the late Giacomo and Rita (Saturno) Iulianetti. She and her family moved to Alanno, Abruzzi, Italy, when she was an infant and settled in Waterbury in 1954. She worked as a seamstress at Liela Dress Shop of Waterbury until her retirement.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart-Sagrado Corazon Church. She had a passion in life for cooking and making sure there was plenty of food for everyone. She loved watching her TV game shows, and her favorite joy in life was spending time with her family.
Besides her husband of 55 years, she leaves two sons, John Saturno and his wife, Ramona, of Plantsville, and Elio Saturno of Waterbury; two daughters, Rita Saturno of Waterbury and Donna Lynch and her husband, Ronald, of Watertown; two sisters, Eva DiMichele of Waterbury and Pierina Causa of Italy; three grandchildren, Andre Maia Jr. of Waterbury and Sabrina and Alexia Saturno of Plantsville; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Edmondo Saturno, a sister, Maria Iulianetti, and two brothers-in-law, Sanguinio DiMichele and Marcello Causa.
Arrangements: Funeral 9 a.m. Thursday from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, to Sacred Heart Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial in New Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
