WATERBURY — Mary Ann (Lombardi) Gugliotti, of Waterbury, died suddenly Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. She was the beloved wife of Nicola Gugliotti.
Mary was born in Waterbury on Feb. 21, 1938, daughter of the late John Lombardi and Antoinette (Siconolfi) Lombardi. She was a graduate of Wilby High School and was employed as secretary at DT Farrington’s in downtown Waterbury until the birth of her first child. During these years, she was a homemaker and devoted parishioner at St. Michael’s Church. Mary was involved with Boy Scout Troop 330 as a leader and volunteer for many years and forged many friendships there.
Mary touched so many with her giving. She always put others before herself. Cooking, sewing and her pet cat, Honey, always made her immeasurably happy, but she cherished the time she had with her grandsons the most. She is loved by many people, friends and family who will miss her dearly.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a brother, Angelo Lombardi and his wife, Anna, of Florida; a sister, Antoinette (Lombardi) Covino and her husband, Jerry, of Waterbury; one daughter, Tara Ann (Gugliotti) Deschenes and her husband, Don, of Prospect; one son, Nicola Gugliotti Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Watertown; two grandsons, Nicola Giovanni Gugliotti III of Watertown and Dylan Jared Deschenes of Prospect; several nieces and nephews and many close family and friends.
Funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank St., Waterbury, to St. Michael’s Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
