WATERBURY — Mr. Carl C. Taggett, 80, of Waterbury, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at Saint Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy (Schilke) Taggett.
Carl was born in Waterbury on March 12, 1931, son of the late Fredrick and Mary (Donahue) Taggett. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He served his community as a Naugatuck police officer for 25 years and was one of the first Naugatuck detectives. He founded Connecticut Investigation & Security Agency in 1985.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Carl leaves a son, Robert Taggett and his wife Frances of Woodbury; three daughters, Margaret E. Taggett and her husband Samuel Spatafore of Naugatuck, Marion Hicks and her husband Phil of Torrington and Carol Anne Taggett of Waterbury; two grandsons, Carl Robert Taggett of Watertown and Robert Joseph Taggett and his wife Theresa of Woodbury.
Carl was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Arrangements: A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, was entrusted with arrangements.
