WATERBURY — Mrs. Grace (Ortale) Marinara, 85, of 31 Nottingham Terrace, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at Waterbury Hospital.
Mrs. Marinara was born in Waterbury on Dec. 1, 1925, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Filomena (Lese) Ortale. She was the manager of Fanny Farmer Candy Store until her retirement. She loved to crochet, do cross word puzzles, and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
She leaves two daughters, Eleanor Tirado and her husband, Alfred, of Wolcott, Elaine Mehigen and her husband, Joseph, of Enfield; four grandchildren, Patrick Mehigen, Bryan Mehigen, Melanie Aftowski and her husband, Michael, and Gina Tirado; a great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Aftowski; and two nephews, John Ortale and his wife, Patricia, of Prospect, and Ernest Ortale of Springfield, Mass. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Ortale.
Arrangements: Funeral 9 a.m. Friday at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, to St. Lucy’s Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Calvary Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
