NAUGATUCK — Mr. Frank R. Altiere, 78, of Lincoln Street, Naugatuck, passed away on Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Lillian (Bellefeuille) Altiere.
Mr. Altiere was born in Waterbury on May 2, 1934, a son of the late Frank and Mary (Bogusiewicz) Altiere. He was a lifelong resident of Naugatuck and a Navy veteran serving during the Korean War.
He was a retiree of Peter Paul Co. and retired after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Eagles Club and Polish American Club. He loved fishing and his great ’48 Ford Super Deluxe.
Besides his wife he leaves, a son Keith Altiere of Bristol, Ind.; three daughters, Cheryl Kazalunas and her husband Paul, Debra Mariano and her husband Kenneth Ventresca, and Michelle Grella and her husband Christopher, all of Naugatuck; a sister, Mary Ann Williamson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Shaun and Brian Altiere, Jessica Scull, Jamison Kazalunas, Nicholas Mariano, Olivia, Mia and Rocco Grella; a great-grandson, Rylan Scull.
He was predeceased by his brother Ronald Altiere.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church. Please meet directly at the church. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Members of the Naugatuck Veterans Council will meet at the funeral home at 7:15 p.m.
