Louise Sorrentino, age 89, of Derby entered into rest on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012 at the Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late James Sorrentino.
Mrs. Sorrentino was born in Derby, on July 23, 1923 daughter of the late Pasquale and Assunta Salce Novelli and she was a lifelong Derby resident. She was employed by Hershey Metals for many years until her retirement in 2000. Mrs. Sorrentino was known for her sense of humor and being generous and unselfish. She also enjoyed watching sports especially NASCAR.
She is the loving mother of James Sorrentino and his wife Roni and Alan Sorrentino and his wife Leanne Cardinelli, the loving grandmother of Amanda Cardinelli, Doreen and Tina Sorrentino, great grandmother of Dillion, Daiden and Zodie. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Barney Novelli.
Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. On Saturday, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Church, 71 Pleasantview Rd. Derby. Her burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery.
