WATERBURY — Mr. Joseph S. Marino, 59, of 516 Chipman St. Ext., passed away peacefully with his beloved wife by his side. He was the husband of Susan E. (Stasonis) Marino.
Joe was born in Waterbury on Feb. 17, 1954, son of Jennie (Carusillo) Marino of Middlebury and the late Horace Marino Sr. He graduated from Kennedy High School. He worked as a truck driver for various companies including Connecticut Lighting and Marino Fuel. He was the president of the Waterbury Patriot for 11 years.
He was a classic car enthusiast who enjoyed frequenting various cruise nights with one of his classic cars, having won many trophies. He was an avid New York Yankee and Giant fan as well as the UCONN Huskys.
Besides his wife of 26 years, and his mother, he leaves a daughter, Stephanie Tomasheski and her husband, David; a son, Daniel Collins; two brothers, Michael A. Marino Sr. and his wife, Vicki, and Horace Marino Jr. and his wife, Patricia, all of Waterbury; two sisters, Joan A. Bozzuto and her husband, Robert, and Diane Marino, all of Waterbury; three precious grandchildren, the loves of his life, Mariah Collins, and Katie and Jeremy Tomasheski. He also leaves aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Arrangements: Funeral 9 a.m. Monday from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, to Our Lady of Lourdes Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hours are from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Waterbury Hospital Intensive Care Unit Nurses for the comfort, care and compassion shown to Joe and his family during his stay.
