WATERTOWN — Nicholas F. Habelka Jr., 67, of Greenwood Street, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of Anne “Nancy” (Kennelly) Habelka.
Nick was born April 22, 1946, son of the late Nicholas and Gladys (Garner) Habelka. He was raised in Watertown, attended St. John’s School, and was a graduate of Kaynor Tech. in Waterbury. He served with the National Guard and was a tool and die maker. He served his apprenticeship at Chase Brass & Copper in Waterbury and then working for Engineered Sinterings and Plastics in Watertown for 40 years until his retirement. He loved gardening, fishing and classic cars.
Besides his wife of 42 years, he leaves two daughters, Heather Habelka and her partner, Jim Miron, of Stratford, and Erin Bertrand and her husband, Michael, of Watertown; and two grandchildren, Nicholas Bertrand and Rory Bertrand.
Funeral services and burial are private. Friends may call today (Friday) at Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown, from 4 to 7 p.m.
