WATERBURY — William F. Slowinski Sr. passed away at home on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 in Waterbury, Conn.
William was born on April 5, 1949 in New Bedford, Mass. He was an antique car enthusiast, owning a ’41 Willys, entering many car shows.
William loved his family very much, participating in many family activities and cheering on his grandchildren with their many sports. He was retired in 2012 from BB Truck and Equipment Repair, having worked there since 1995 and working for L&I Trucking before changing hands to BB in Cheshire, Conn.
William left a son, William Jr. and his wife AnnMarie and a daughter, Tammy Fernandez and her husband Angel, all of Waterbury. He also is survived by his former wife and longtime friend Julieann Slowinski, of Waterbury.
He is also survived by two sisters, Phyllis Denton of Madison, Conn. and Thelma Souza of Lakeville, Mass. and her husband Steven; four grandchildren, Summer, William III, Brianna and Joseph Slowinski, of Waterbury; also one nephew, Steven Souza of Massachusetts.
William was predeceased by his parents, Miecyslaw and Hilda (Stark) Slowinski of Fairhaven, Mass.; a brother Mitchell of Waterbury; and a brother-in-law Walter F. Denton of of Madison, Conn.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Church in Waterbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
