Mr. Victor L. LaRosa, age 68, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2014, in the VITAS hospice unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Felicia (Ciavarella) LaRosa.
Mr. LaRosa was born November 10, 1945, in Waterbury, son of the late Louis and Julia (Raponi) LaRosa. Vic worked as a painter for Regional Painting and then opened his own business, Vic’s Painting, which he owned for over four years. After retirement, he worked part-time for Quality Auto Sales. Vic’s pride and joy was his 1938 Chevy, “Big Apple”, and he loved his car club, the “Die Hard Cruisers”. He and Felicia were always together, and he loved their trips to the casino.
In addition to Felicia, his devoted wife and best friend of 41 years, Vic is survived by his brothers Ronald LaRosa and Bob LaRosa; both of Waterbury, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rocco and Julia Ciavarella of Waterbury; his brothers-in-law Leonard Ciavarella of West Haven and Rocco Ciavarella and his wife Gale of Waterbury; and his sister-in-law Anna Carlson and her companion Dean Sidowski of Waterbury. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, great-nephews and his great-niece, Willow Grace who was the true joy of his life as well as his best buddy Tony Sandulli, who stood by his side throughout his illness.
Felicia and the LaRosa family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the VITAS unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital for their outstanding and compassionate care shown to Vic and the family during his time there. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, from 4:00-8-00pm with a service beginning at 7:00pm at Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury.
