Maurice “Moe” LaBonte, 61, of Cheryl Drive, passed away unexpectedly on Friday January 9, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of Louise (Salerno) LaBonte.
Moe was born in Waterbury on November 20, 1953, son of the late Leo and Jean (Desjardins) LaBonte. He graduated from Wilby High School class of 1973. He worked as an inspector for Pratt & Whitney of East Hartford for over twenty years and was currently still employed. He was an avid classic car enthusiast and member of the “Oil Can Boys” car club. He was the proud owner of a 1972 Chevy Monte Carlo. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and took great pride in manicuring his lawn. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren and spending time with his family. He loved the Christmas Holiday Season, decorating his house and lighting his candles. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.
Besides his wife Louise of thirty-nine years he leaves three sons, Brandon M. LaBonte and his wife Jennifer, Kevin D. LaBonte and his wife Stephanie and Kristopher R. LaBonte and his wife Ashley all of Waterbury, two brothers, Joel LaBonte and his wife Paula of Watertown and Ricky LaBonte and his wife Lisa of Thomaston, three sisters, Rena Jannetty and her husband Richard and Linda LoRusso and her husband Bart of Waterbury, and Joann Basile of Plymouth, four grandchildren that he loved and adored, Nathan LaBonte, Hailee LaBonte, Gianna LaBonte and Grace Riera, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert LaBonte.
Arrangements: Funeral Tuesday 10 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home 430 Chase Parkway to Blessed Sacrament Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
