WINSTED – Joseph L. Alberto age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 19th 2015 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was the husband of Kathy (Hallaway) Alberto.
Joseph was born October 7th 1949 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Joseph and Pearl “Domenique” (Russo) Alberto. He attended local schools and was the owner operator of Hometown Auto in Prospect. Joe was an antique and classic car enthusiast who enjoyed going to car shows and doing anything related to automobiles. He also enjoyed taking trips to the casino and most importantly spending time with his family and friends who may have also known him as “Streaker”.
Besides his wife Kathy, of 37 years, he survived by his sons; Joseph Alberto of Torrington, Paul Alberto and his wife, Robyn of Wolcott, Robert Alberto of Winsted and his daughters, Jaime Veary and her husband, Craig of Waterbury, and Joanne Hammac and her husband, William of Waterbury. He also leaves three sisters, Debby and Mike Morrell of Naugatuck, Ellen Restivo of Waterbury, and Mary and Tom Hallaway of Prospect as well as many other family members and his four grandchildren and several nieces, nephew’s and many close friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Philomena Knudsen.
A Celebration of Life for Joseph will be held August 8th 2015 at his son’s home at 15 Todd Rd Wolcott at 2:00 pm. There are no calling hours.
