OAKVILLE — Gary H. Cole, age 64, of Oakville, passed away unexpectedly at Saint Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the widower of Sharon (Wrisley) Cole.
Gary was born September 12, 1951 in Waterbury, the son of the late Howard and Martha (Fry) Cole. He grew up in the Terryville area and was a graduate of Terryville High School. Gary spent many years working as an Electric Motor Mechanic, repairing large electric motors, most recently at B&J Electric. Gary loved to “tinker” and was a jack of all trades and had the ability to repair or customize just about anything that needed repair. He enjoyed attending classic car shows and enjoyed restoring and collecting cars and was an avid fan of drag racing. What brought the most joy to Gary was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Cole is survived by his son, David Cole and his wife, Lorna, of Oakville; his daughter, Carol Moran and her husband, Chris, of Thomaston; his grandchildren, Lorena, David, Teagan and Riley; as well as several nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Cole will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 7 p.m. at the O’Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville. Burial will be private and will be held at the convenience of his family. Relatives and friends may visit with Gary’s family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service.
