David J. Millican Sr., 64, beloved honey of 43 years to Sue Simoneau Millican, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday morning, November 11, 2016, at Yale-New Haven Hospital, with his family by his side.
Dave was born in Derby on September 21, 1952, son of the late John J. and Lucy Tuccio Millican. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, he was employed as a lead man at Sikorsky Aircraft for 30 years until his retirement in 2014. He was a proud graduate of Emmett O’Brien High School’s first graduating class in 1971. Dave enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motorhome, vacationing on cruises, attending NASCAR races and driving his 1967 Camaro.
In addition to his wife Sue, he is survived by a son, David J. Millican Jr., a daughter, Danielle Conway (Timothy) of Ansonia, cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Victoria and Isabella Millican and David J. Millican III, sister, Elaine Tenedine of Ansonia, father in law, Robert Oliver Sr. of FL, brother-in-law, Robert Oliver Jr. (Douglas Westhoven) of GA, sisters-in-law, Laura Viles (Perry) and Jeanette Horgen (Leif) of GA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law and friend, William Tenedine and mother-in -law, Barbara Oliver.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday November 14, 2016, from 4-7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Tuesday, his funeral will commence at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Burial will be private.
