WATERBURY – Miss Elaine R. Chmielnicki, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 19, 2018.
Elaine was born on Sept. 1, 1951, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Joseph and Concetta (Covino) Chmielnicki Sr. Elaine dedicated her life to her family and was the primary caretaker for her parents.
A devout Catholic, Elaine was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and watched daily Mass on television. She was an avid reader and loved to cook.
Above all, she loved to be with her brother and best friend, Joe, her late dog Lucky and her new puppy Thompson.
Elaine is survived by her brother Joseph Chmielnicki Jr. of Waterbury; and her goddaughter, Abigail Garcia Velez; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury, to Our Lady of Lourdes Church for a Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
