WATERBURY – Mr. George “Skinner” Hurdle, 85, of Wood Street, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018, at Waterbury Hospital.
He was born Jan. 29, 1933, in Simsbury, N.C., to the late Thomas and Mary Lee (Gatling) Hurdle. George moved to Waterbury when he was a teenager. He also lived in New Jersey briefly before moving back to Waterbury until his passing.
He worked for various companies throughout his life. George was an energetic man who enjoyed classic cars and gardening; he was known as the neighborhood farmer. He loved people and his family very much.
He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Sheila and Anita Hurdle; two sons Keith and Gregory Hurdle; two grandsons, Robert T. Kelly and Gary L. Hurdle; one great-granddaughter, Najaria Kelly; and a host of extended family friends.
