WATERBURY – Margaret “Peggie” (Stafford) Crocco, 76, entered into the gates of heaven on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at the Masonic Care of Wallingford, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the loving wife of Richard Crocco of 55 years.
Peggie was born in Waterbury on Oct. 17, 1942, daughter of the late William and Madeline (McEnerney) Stafford.
She was a graduate of Wilby High School, class of 1960 and worked at Waterbury Savings Bank. She had a love for animals and was generous enough to support to numerous animal organizations. She enjoyed writing poetry and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her husband Richard, Peggie leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Stephen Crocco and his wife, Denise of Waterbury; her brother William Stafford and his companion, Vivian Chesky of Manchester and her three grandchildren, Kevin Michaud, Margaret Lynn Crocco and her husband, Vincent Sacco and Stephen Richard Crocco II.
A funeral will be Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway to St. Francis Xavier Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at later date at the convenience of the family at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
