Flori M. Ali, 62, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the VITAS Hospice Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Rosanna (Becce) Ali for 32 years.
Flori was born in Waterbury, CT on April 14, 1956, son of the late Mehmet J. and Gurazije (Demir) Ali. He worked as a salesman and manager for Alpha Distributors and later for ABC Building Supply for 35 years before his retirement. He was a dedicated member of the Cornerstone Church and was a member of the Townsend Lodge #89 I.O.O.F. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and taking care of his lawn. He also enjoyed cruising and going on vacations with his family. Flori won many car show awards with his 1965 Chevy Chevelle SS. He was an avid fan of the NY Mets and NY Giants.
Besides his wife of Wolcott, Flori leaves one son, Alexander Ali of Wolcott, one brother, Rami M. Ali of Waterbury, two sisters, Hena Croce and her husband, Michael of Waterbury, Salie Cameron and her husband, Mark of Wolcott and several nieces and nephews.
Flori’s family would like to thank the VITAS Staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for the wonderful care given to Flori.
Arrangements: A calling hour will be held at the Cornerstone Church, 1146 Waterbury, Rd., Cheshire, CT 06410 on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. A celebration of life service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708 has been entrusted with Flori’s arrangements.
