WATERBURY – George Thomas Brazee, 83, formerly of Watertown, died Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Autumn Lake Healthcare in Waterbury.
George was born in Waterbury, Oct. 28, 1935, son of the late Albert and Anna (Kiyak) Brazee. He graduated from Oliver Wolcott Tech in Torrington and lived in Watertown for many years. He was a contractor and master craftsman. In the 1960s, George was a renowned drag racer. He enjoyed restoring and showing antique and classic cars and was the founder of the Watertown Custom Car Club.
George leaves a son, Richard Brazee of Watertown; three daughters, Laura Brazee of Waterbury, Susan Kloss of Waterbury, and Katherine Berezniy of Petaluma. Calif.; two brothers, Joseph Brazee of Michigan and Robert Brazee of Berlin; a sister, Elsie Johnson of Griswold; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
