WOLCOTT – Thomas W. Hallaway, 68, entered into eternal rest on July 25, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Alberto) Hallaway for 23 years.
Thomas was born in Waterbury, son of the late Stephen W. and Lorraine (Leahy) Hallaway. He was a graduate of W. F. Kaynor Technical High School majoring in electrical. He retired as a manager for an electrical wholesale company.
Tom was one of the founding members of the car club, Mopars of Connecticut. He spent many happy hours at car shows around Connecticut, having won many trophies. Tom’s pride and joy was his plum crazy purple 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. He especially loved playing cards with his family, working on cars and going to the casino.
Tom will be missed by his wife, Mary; daughters Sharyl (Raymond) Thorn, and Brandi (Chris) Rowe; and grandchildren Roger Feero Jr., Sarah Feero and Jacob Rowe, all of Wolcott; a brother, John (Dori) Hallaway of Prospect; and sisters, Patricia (Edward) Atwood of Watertown, and Katherine Alberto of Winsted; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Tom is also survived by a daughter, Jennifer Darius of Waterford, and her two sons. Thomas was predeceased by his parents, and his brother-in-law and best friend, Joseph Alberto.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Meriden Road, Waterbury. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
