May 10, 1939 – June 22, 2024

Rolando B. D’Almeida, 85, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on June 22, 2024. He was the husband of Antoinette (Salerno) D’Almeida of Waterbury.

Rolando was born in Waterbury on May 10, 1939. He was a proud veteran and served two years in the U.S. Army National Guard, four years in the U.S. Air Force, and another two years in the National Guard. He was a skilled electrician and worked for Pratt and Whitney as and electrical engineer for over 25 years. He also received his Associates degree in Business from the University of New Haven. He was a man of many hobbies and a great outdoorsman. He held memberships to Wolcott Land Owners Protective Association, Bristol Fish and Game Club and Prospect Car Club. He had a passion for classic cars and took great pride in bringing his 1955 Ford Fairlane Victoria to car shows where he won many awards. In his free time, he enjoyed watching Westerns, drinking coffee and working on his Fairlane.

Besides his wife Antoinette, Rolando leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Bernadette and Judith D’Almeida of Waterbury, his son, Roland D’Almeida and his wife, Gina D’Almeida of Watertown, his granddaughter, Cristina D’Almeida of Watertown, his brother, Walter Almeida of Naugatuck, and his two nieces. He was predeceased by his son, Michael D’Almeida.

Arrangements: A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 10am at St. Anthony’s Church , 4 Union City Rd., Prospect.  All those planning to attend are respectfully asked to meet directly at the church.  Burial with military honors will immediately follow at All Saints Cemetery, 203 Spring Lake Rd, Waterbury.
