OAKVILLE – Doris Banda, 81, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication. Doris was a beloved mother, wife, sister, and caregiver whose warmth and compassion touched everyone who knew her.

Born on February 16, 1943, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Lester and Pauline (Menard) Montambault. She was raised in Waterbury, and later moved to Oakville to raise her children. Doris was a graduate of Wilby High School. She enjoyed spending time with her immediate and extended family, frequent trips to Mohegan Sun and traveling to Aruba.

Doris’ role as a caregiver extended beyond her immediate family. She was also a devoted daughter to her parents and pillar of strength to her siblings. She was involved with the Watertown Area Association for Special Citizens (WAASC), where she, at one time, served as secretary.

She recently celebrated 45 years of marriage with her loving husband Louis. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, love, and an enduring commitment to each other. Their bond was an inspiring example of true partnership, and their shared journey was one of mutual respect and affection.

Doris is survived by her husband Louis; her children William Kulmann, III, Brian Kulmann (Valerie), Kara Banda, and daughter-in-law Angela Kulmann; five grandchildren Nathan, Bradley, Leah, Drew, and Nora; her siblings Claire (Joe) Dileo, Carol (Robert) Bisaillon, and sister-in-law Elizabeth Montambault, sister-in-law Theresa (Ronald) Lipieka, and brother-in-law Dominick (Wilma) Banda. She is also survived by her previous husband, William Kulmann, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends who will cherish her memory. She was pre-deceased by her sons, Baby Kulmann and Jaret Kulmann, brother, Donald Montambault, sister, Lois Longo, brother-in-law, Vincent Banda, mother-in-law Cecilia Banda, father-in-law Vincent Banda, nephews Jason Bisaillon, David Montambault, and Ronald Lipieka, Jr., and niece Donna Montambault.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday September 6, 2024, at All Saints with Christ Episcopal Church, 262 Main St. Oakville. Those attending are asked to meet directly at church. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday September 5, 2024 at Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St. Watertown.
