Joseph J. Santella, age 68, of Trumbull passed away in his home on Monday, February 24, 2025. Born in Norwalk, CT, he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Mary Basso Santella. He attended St Joseph grammar school in Norwalk and later graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1974.
After working in the autobody business for a while, he had a career as a Connecticut State Trooper (Sargeant) for many years before retiring.
Joe always had a deep passion for and was fond of restoring classic cars. He never missed a cruise night with his ’69 Camaro Z/28.
Joseph is survived by his brother Pat Santella and his wife Kathy of Trumbull, his niece Mary Connolly and husband Shane of Fairfield, and great niece Charlotte Connolly of Fairfield, niece Diana Santella of Washington D.C., and long-time companion Pam Hutchinson of Shelton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 11 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull followed by interment in St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday Morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Commerce Hill Dougiello Funeral Home, 4798 Main St., Bridgeport.
