WATERBURY – Guerry Morgan, 74, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, after a short illness.
Guerry was born May 16, 1945, in Notasulga, Ala. After attending school there, he moved to Waterbury in 1964. He worked for Sunoco Petroleum Fuel for 30 years before retiring and continued to work for H.I. Stone for five years until the onset of his illness.
Guerry enjoyed driving race cars, traveling to his home state of Alabama, breakfast at Eastgate Restaurant, and spending time with friends over coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts.
Guerry is survived by his wife, Sylvia Morgan; his mother, Bertha Morgan; and his brother, Elmore Morgan Jr. of Waterbury. He also leaves to cherish his memory, five children; a stepson; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Elmore Morgan Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. Morgan will be 11 a.m. Monday at Casey’s Eastside Memorial and Tribute Center, 1987 East Main St. at Southmayd Road, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Guerry’s family from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
