Frederick M. Mekdeci “Louie the Nose” age 77, of Ansonia died peacefully Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was born in New Haven on August 2, 1943, son of the late Thomas and Linda (Hamrah) Mekdeci. In 1970, Fred opened ReNu Auto Body of Ansonia and has owned and operated it for over 50 years. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, classic cars and cooking. Fred loved talking to people. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family. The family would like to thank the Staff at Yale New Haven South Pavilion ICU for all they did for him.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Melissa Mekdeci of West Haven, CT, his son Thomas Mekdeci and wife Chris Mekdeci of Seymour, CT. He also leaves behind his niece, Kim Mekdeci of Winter Park, FL. He was predeceased by his brother, Theodore Mekdeci and his sister, Wadia Douskey.
Friends may call on Friday, July 9th from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home. 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. His funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM in the Parlor.
