Krystina J. Grove, age 74, of New Fairfield, CT passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, December 3, 2021, after a short yet fierce battle with Breast Cancer. She was the loving wife of James (Grover) T. Grove Sr. of 53 years.
She was born in Germany on October 25, 1947, before coming to the US as a young girl with her mother and sister. She grew up in New York and attended Portchester High School. She married June 9, 1968, and moved to New Fairfield in the early 1970s, where she raised her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Michelle (Kenneth) Kinsman, Jim (Marie) Grove Jr., Heather (Anthony) Newman, Monique (Thomas) Bulan, and Kenneth (Chelsey) Grove. Her grandchildren: Rachel (Eric), Melisa, Kyle, Hailey, Emma, and Koston along with her great-grandchild: Julian.
Krystina is survived by her sister, Gigi (Salvatore) Carlucci along with several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Krystina will be sorely missed. She enjoyed life and those close to her know how much she enjoyed each and every holiday, from her decorations to her joyful outfits that brought smiles to everyone’s face. And oh, how she loved her crazy gadgets and her tchotchke’s. She loved spending time with her friends (the Yaya’s) and going out to dinner at different restaurants. In her younger years enjoyed bowling on Wednesday mornings and playing canasta on the weekends with the girls. She enjoyed different fairs and had a love for taking day trips to various places. Whenever she left the house she would bring the contents of the house with her, always prepared for anything life had to throw her way, and with having 5 kids how could she not. She loved attending parades and dressing in her patriotic colors with flags and sparklers and all. She loved to gamble at the Casino’s and you can find her right next to the penny slot machines. She loved scary movies, reading numerous kinds of books, and going to Broadway shows. She accompanied her husband to car shows, racing events, and would always help with his car reunions. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend and will always have a place in our hearts.
A visitation for Krystina will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Green Funeral Home. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 6:00 PM.
