Valerie Ann (Sandulli) MacDowell, age 73, passed away with her husband by her side on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the Advent Health Sebring Hospital. She was the loving wife of Gene MacDowell.
Born on April 17, 1949 in Waterbury, Valerie was the daughter of the late Louis and Philomena (DiLeone) Sandulli. She was a graduate of Croft High School and worked for Airpax in Cheshire for many years until her retirement. Valerie moved to the community of Highlands in Lake Placid where she lived for over fifteen years. She was very active in social activities in Florida and was happiest spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to Gene, her devoted husband of 19 years, Valerie is survived by her son David Sandulli of Waterbury; her stepsons Michael MacDowell and his wife Vicky and Jamie MacDowell and his partner Lauren; several grandchildren and one great-grandchild; all of Florida; her brother Anthony Sandulli and his wife Patricia of Waterbury; and his sister-in-law Elizabeth ”Betty” Sandulli of Wolcott. She also leaves her cousins to whom she was especially close Nancy Vendetti of Old Saybrook and Donald Sevas and his wife Loretta of Wallingford as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Francis Sandulli and Robert Sandulli and her sister-in-law Mary Sandulli.
