WATERTOWN, CT – Frances (Mullins) Shea, age 79, of Oakville, a loving Mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024 at Waterbury Hospital after an extended illness. She was the beloved widow of John Shea. 

Frances was born to the late Joseph F. and Rita (Rouillard) Mullins on August 19, 1945 in New Britian, CT. She attended St. Margret’s Parochial school and Crosby High School and graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing. Frances was a Registered Nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital, Apple Rehab, and for over 20 years at Watertown Convalarium. Throughout her life, Frances had a passion for reading, traveling with friends, and spending peaceful days at the beach. Frances was a great cook and enjoyed serving holiday meals at her home. Her kindness, compassion, and dedication to her work in the healthcare industry touched the lives of many. What Frances loved the most was being a wife and a devoted mother to her three sons and being a grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all those who were blessed to know and love her. 

Left to honor and cherish her memory are her three sons, James J. Shea, Michael T. Shea, and John F. Shea. She also leaves her beloved grandson, Colin Shea, a brother Thomas Mullins and his wife, Barbara, along with nieces, extended family and friends. Frances was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, her sister, Rosemary (Mullins) Smith, and brother Joseph Mullins. 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Shea will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. from the Casey-O’Neill Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 742 Main Street, Oakville, CT to Holy Disciples Parish – Saint Mary Magdalen Church, 16 Buckingham Street, Oakville to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemtery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with the Shea family on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 am at the funeral home.
